THE WORLD BREAD DAY and YORKSHİRE PUDINGS

BAKE BREAD or BUY BREAD and ENJOY THE BREAD...

16 October is declared as the World Bread Day. And Zorra has invited everyone to bake bread and write about it. I like this activities because we are eating bread since thousands of years as a main food.

We can bake so many different kinds of bread with main ingredients flour,water and salt. I am so excited to meet various breads from all over the world.

My family like to eat Yorkshire Pudingbreads at breakfast. I think it is favourable for the Turkish breakfast culture. But you can eat Y.Puding breads with various spices as a side dish with beef, pork or chicken in United States and England.

I read the y.pudings recipe first in Mrs Binnur's blog and then Grandmothers secret recipes.
According to Grandmothers recipe;
  • 4 eggs (room temperature)
  • 2 cups milk (room temperature) 500 mL
  • 2 cups all purpose flour 500 mL
  • 1 tsp. salt 5 mL
You have to use muffin pan for this bread. This recipe makes 12 large muffin-sized Yorkshires. Increase oven temperature to 400 F (205 C). In a large muffin pan, place one teaspoon butter and remove it to the oven before fill the pans (until the butter melts - about 5 minutes)

In a large bowl, beat eggs with an electric hand mixer about 5 minutes until frothy. Add milk and beat again for another 5 minutes. Add flour and salt, beating for at least 5 minutes until batter is creamy and smooth.

Pour batter into each cup, almost filling them to the top. Place in oven and bake 30 minutes 200 C. Watch how high the puddings get through the glass oven door, but don’t open the oven door until ready to remove puddings. When done, they will be high, puffy, golden brown and yet still moist in the centers. And serve immediately please :) I love them a lot...
